Government Funding
Understanding 2, 3, & 4-year-old childcare funding options.
In England, the government offers funded childcare hours to help families with the cost of early education. These hours are provided through your childcare setting and are funded by the Department for Education.
2-year-old funding
Some 2 year olds are eligible for 15 hours of funded childcare per week. This funding is aimed at supporting children’s early development.
Eligibility is usually based on:
- Household income or benefits
- Children who have additional needs or specific circumstances
3- & 4-year-old universal funding
All children aged 3 & 4 are entitled to 15 hours of funded childcare per week, regardless of family income.
You do not need to apply for this type of funding, we will sort this out for you.
30 hours working families funding
Working families may be eligible for up to 30 hours of funded childcare per week for children aged between 9 months and 4 years.
Process:
- Check eligibility (work status, income, NI number).
- Apply online via gov.uk.
- Receive 11-digit code.
- Share code, NI number & child's DOB with us.
Note: You must reconfirm your eligibility every 3 months to keep your code valid.
Using Your Hours at All Stars
15 Hours Funding
Options:
- 15 Hours for 38 weeks (Term Time)
- 11 Hours for 52 weeks (All Year)
Example Usage:
- 5 x 3 Hour Sessions
- 3 x 5 Hour Sessions
- 1 x 10 Hour & 1 x 5 Hour
- (All Year) 1 x 5 Hr & 1 x 6 Hr
30 Hours Funding
Options:
- 30 Hours for 38 weeks (Term Time)
- 22 Hours for 52 weeks (All Year)
Example Usage:
- 3 x 10 Hour Sessions
- 2 x 10 Hour & 2 x 5 Hour
- (All Year) 2 x 10 Hr & 1 x 2 Hr (topped up)
NOTE: For children 9 Months – 2 Years, Term Time Only places require a MINIMUM of 2 days per week privately paid during Holidays.

If you opt-out, you must provide these items yourself. If not provided, they will be charged automatically. Breakfast, AM Snack & PM Snack are inclusive.
